Workspaces separate API keys, usage, and settings by workload. Personal accounts manage their own workspaces. Organization administrators manage organization workspaces; members enter only those they can access.

Create and enter a workspace

  1. Open Workspaces at the account level and choose to create one.
  2. Enter a name, URL identifier, and optional description. Use lowercase letters, numbers, and single hyphens for the identifier.
  3. Save, enter the workspace, and grant organization members access as needed.
  4. Use the top bar to switch workspaces. Check the current scope before managing keys or viewing usage.
Names and URL identifiers must be unique within the account. Creating a regular organization workspace does not automatically add every member.

The default workspace

Organization members gain access to the default workspace after accepting an invitation. You cannot delete it or remove its members individually. Other workspaces use explicit access grants. Organization administrators can access all organization workspaces. Leaving the organization removes the member’s workspace access.

Edit or delete

Edit the available fields in workspace settings and save. Discarding changes restores the saved values. Before deleting a regular workspace, resolve the listed resource dependencies, such as keys, then confirm deletion. The default workspace and the account’s last workspace cannot be deleted. Deletion does not reassign historical requests to another workspace. Workspaces have no separate balance, and deleting one does not transfer organization funds to a personal account.

If you cannot enter

Check the account and workspace, then ask an administrator to confirm your access. An old link may stop working if your invitation is pending, your membership ended, or the workspace was deleted. Related: Enterprise quickstart · Members and permissions · Budgets and limits Last updated: 2026-10-13
